What is my Passion? My Passion is Videogame design.
Why is it more than a mere interest to you?
I've always liked playing them, but I want to do more. I want to, and have always wanted to, create a videogame. I've always wanted to do this because game I play, in my opinion, don't do enough. I want more. Plus I could have it as a job someday. This can take me places. It also sounds like a fun job. I want to do something that I can do anything I want in, where all my ideas can go. I want to design a videogame, so videogame design is my passion.
What would other people need to know about your passion in order to understand it?
What exactly videogame design is. Their are so many parts to it. It's not just videogame design, their is art design, and many other parts and pieces to the job and the game. Videogame designers make the layout of the game, they decide everything that goes into the game, but they don't get to chose everything about the game. They don't get to make the characters, they just make, design, how to get their and they make all the challenges.
Which aspects of it are the most important to share?
I think the most important aspects to share is that they aren't overnight projects, they may take years to create. Also, their is more to videogame design than just designing what happens, and the world that is in the game. Their are many aspects and parts to the job, not just videogame design.
How does your passion affect and reflect you as a person and as a learner?
It affects me as a person because it is an interest or passion of mine. It shows my love of videogames. Although it might not seem like videogames teach you anything, they taught me about order and they help me learn how to organize my time. They also help me calm down some times, and sometimes they just annoy me. They help me learn to be patient because it takes time to accomplish things in videogames, much like real life. Although videogames aren’t like real life, they teach real life things. It affects and reflects me as a learner because they help me organize everything, it affects me in so many ways. They help me try to figure out goals, fix simple things, even though they are just videogames, they teach you, sometimes, how to use common sense.
I am a 13 year old. I obviously like videogames and someday I hope that my job will have to do with videogame design, or anything to do with videogames. I will give you a story about how I really got into videogames. Alright, so when I was younger my brother had a batman plug n' play. I loved it. The only problem was... big surprise, my older brother. Yes, he wouldn't let me play so when he went to kindergarten everyday, my mom would let me play the plug n' play. That's not what got me started on videogames though. That game was to hard and I didn't understand at all. I kept getting stuck on some of it's levels, so I didn't get very far in the game. So, my brother also played soccer. So I could say that soccer changed my life. Well, since I wasn't good at sitting around, and I got bored easily, my mother always took us for walks. I loved them. So as we were walking back to the game, we went around the park. I saw something red laying in the grass. It was a Gameboy. It was square, red, and already had a game in it. Also, it was charged. I begged my mom if I could keep it. My mom said sure. That's what got me started. It was a racing game, and as soon as I found it I was intrigued. That is now my passion, videogame design. We started buying tons of plug and plays. I have to admit, I LOVED them. Me and my brothers constantly got in fights over who got to play with them. I found what ruined my life, or made it more interesting. Depends on how you look at it. Then my parents bought me a DS. Then, what really changed my gaming life was my uncle had brought us a Play Station 2, or a PS2,that he was bored of, so he decided to give it to us. He gave us 2 games, a quad game and a skiing game. We all loved them both. Me and my other 2 brothers. Well, that's the story of how my gaming life started.
I am a child in a family of 5. I have 2 brothers, one of which is named Dylan, and the other is Jacob. I, myself, am named Shane McDonald.
